International Internships at Pack Forest

Pack Forest regularly offers internships to students seeking to develop and expand their forestry field skills. This unpaid internship is geared towards 2nd, 3rd and 4th year forestry students or students in related fields.

Internships at Pack generally require a three month commitment, during which the intern is offered housing and a small stipend. An apartment with electricity, a telephone (local calls only), bedroom, kitchen and bathroom is provided for all of our student interns. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils. A laundry room is also located in the conference center. Interns should expect to provide for any additional living expenses themselves.

International interns should expect to purchase a vehicle for their stay as travel will be extremely difficult without one. Pack Forest is completely inaccessible by public transportation; a car or small truck is necessary to get around. A valid driver's license is therefore mandatory for participation in the internship program.

Visa requirements for internships will vary depending on your home country and it is the student's responsibility to ensure that they obtain all the necessary visas or visa-waivers to participate in an internship in the US.

For more information on the internship program, please contact Duane Emmons, forest operations manager. He can be reached by email at emmons@u.washington.edu or by telephone at 001.206.685.4485 extension 212.
